Flowering Seasons of Japan - When is the best time to see flowers?
Tokachi Hills, 16 Oct 2019 |
In my hometown Malaysia, we don't often see large flower fields so it is very exciting for us to see flower fields overseas! In Japan, flowers are very beautiful and you can see beautiful scenery all year round!
With the help from some of my friends in Japan, the following list is compiled so you'll know when could be the best time for your next visit. ^^
Month and Flower Type
December to January: Japanese Daffodils
Late February to early March: Plums
Mid-March to early April: Cherry Blossoms, Brassica Napus
Late April to early May: Wisteria flowers, Tulips
April to May: Shibazakura, Baby Blue Eyes
Early to Mid May: Rose
May to July: Iris
Mid-June to mid-July: Hydrangea
Early July to early August: Lavender
July to August: Sunflower
Late August to early October: Large Cosmos
September to early October: Red Spider Lilies, Kochia
September to mid-November: Chrysanthemum
Late November to mid-February: Peony
Among all the beautiful flowers in Hokkaido, which is your favorite?
While sakura is the most famous part of Japan, I personally love hydrangeas despite the drizzling season. It gives out a relaxing vibe.
I'll find time to write more about other parts of my trip again.
Until next time!
